Steve & Meg Shearer left the corporate world to pursue entrepreneurship 15 years ago when they purchased Chocolate Storybook. With Steve’s background in sales and Meg’s background in marketing, it just made sense for them as a husband & wife team to marry their skillsets. Since 2002, they have been actively using their skillsets to grow this beloved destination for delicious handmade chocolates and unique gifts with flair.
The explosive growth they have experienced over the years is attributed to their customized corporate gift programs and their flavored cotton candy. You can find their cotton candy under the label SGR which is sold around the United States. If you’re flying and wanting cotton candy pick some up at LaGuardia, O’Hare and Reagan. You can also find Chocolate Storybook treats around town at Gateway Market, VonMaur, Mercy Hospital Gift Shop, Dylan’s Candy Bar and the Des Moines Playhouse to name a few.

Tracy Fuller became an entrepreneur 27 years ago when she started her first company, Happy Occasions, in response to a personal tragedy. Nearly three decades later, she leads the team at InnovativEvents, providing event décor, backstage management, and overall coordination and management of all production aspects. She has produced dozens of corporate events – sometimes for an intimate group of corporate board members, other times for crowds as large as 3,000. There are definitely some nice benefits; she has worked with Elton John, Bon Jovi, and Keith Urban and companies like Google, Oracle and Allstate Insurance.
