Black Friday Deal to attend Set Sell!

Black Friday Dollar Bill

Yesterday we reminded you to capture some of your favorite Thanksgiving memories.  I know for a few of my friends this includes memories from Black Friday!

This was my inspiration to offer a deal that you can’t refuse.  I decided to offer Set Sell! tickets at a discount of 25% now through Monday.

The catch is there is only 10 tickets at this discounted price and there will not be a better price offered between now and January 5th.

If you want to take advantage of this deal, go to www.modernmuseconsulting.com/setsell and click on the Black Friday Special tab.  Once the tickets are gone, there gone!  For this reason, I recommend jumping on this deal fast.

Now for those of you who are interested in the history of Black Friday, I thought I would share the significance of this day in the history of the US Economy since the late 19th Century.

It got its “claim to fame”  in 1924 when Macy’s Department Store launched its famous Thanksgiving Day parade.  It wanted to celebrate its success, a result of the Roaring 20s according to the History Channel.

However, that success didn’t last.  During the Great Depression, retailers warned that the holiday shopping season was too short and many of them would go bankrupt.  At that time, Thanksgiving was the last Thursday in November.  In 1939, this meant that Thanksgiving was in the fifth week of November.

Retailers petitioned President Franklin D. Roosevelt to move the Thanksgiving holiday to the fourth Thursday of the month.  It didn’t happen the first year it was requested.  Congress did solve the problem though.  In 1941, the law was passed that made Thanksgiving the fourth Thursday in November no matter what.

Join me in celebrating the foresight these retailers had in 1939 by choosing to Set Sell! on January 5th, 2016 at a discount.  As mentioned above, Modern Muse is running a Black Friday special through Cyber Monday.

**The catch is there is only 10 tickets available for the price of $57 (+Event Brite cost) now until Monday at midnight.
